The long spoon is one of the best Salmon spoons available. It is fished best by allowing it to flutter its way across the flow at roughly right angles, allowing the water to impart the action. Too much tension on the line will tend to damp out the action. The Long Spoon is at its best when the Salmon are running and will trigger a response from a large proportion of fish, especially when fished in the tail of a pool.

The Long Spoon has also accounted for a large number of Pike and Perch.
